Thankful Thursday August 20

Good Morning Campers!! It's
ThankfulThursday What are you thankful for today?? I'm thankful for My Brother who made me this Amazing life-like tree sculpture!! I Love it!! He's so Creative and I'm beyond excited to have a piece of his Talent!! I will treasure it forever!!

This reminds of a poem by Bonnie Mohr... 'Life is not a race - but indeed a journey. Be Honest. Work Hard. Be Choosy. Say 'thank you', and 'great job' to someone each day. Go to church, take time for prayer. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh. Let your handshake mean more than pen and paper. Love your life and what you've been given, it is not accidental ~ search for your purpose and do it as best you can. Dreaming does matter. It allows you to become that which you inspire to be. Laugh often. Appreciate the little things in life and enjoy them. Some of the best things really are free. Do not worry, less wrinkles are more becoming. Forgive, it frees the soul. Take time for yourself ~ Plan for longevity. Recognize the special people you've been blessed to know. Live for today, enjoy the moment.

May you find a Treasure in your Life today and Share your Talents with Others.  It may Empower them to Share their Own Talents and Create something that someone else can Treasure!! Happy Thankful Thursday!!

Layers of Healing Sunday April 26

Good Morning Campers!! What are you thankful for today??  I'm thankful for the opportunity to Peel back the Layers of onion that is me and Heal!! As we go through life, we have stuff happen to us that we accumulate a rough, hard layer of protection around us. As time goes on, we can accumulate many layers of protection to guard out hearts from being hurt one more time.  What ends up happening is that we been crusty, just like that outside of an onion. Bitterness, hardness and resentment take over who we are...as the world sees us.

When we decide that we've had enough, we take Action!! We take the necessary steps out of our comfort zone and start to peel away all of the layers and start to heal ourselves and reveal to the world who we are at the core of our being. The way we entered this world. The way we were designed.

Layer by layer we peel away and expose ourselves by sharing our story. Layer by layer, we feel, we grieve, we forgive, we let go, we remove and we rebuild. Layer by layer we take away the hardness that we have put up to protect ourselves and rebuild what's left by forgiving ourselves, others and loving ourselves. Layer by layer we open the wounds that have left scars on our soul, in order to heal those wounds, care for them and put the proper ointment of those old wounds. As we continue to peel away the outer layers, we become softer, more accessible, more lovable, more understanding, less judgmental. Do we still get hurt?? Sure we do, and, we have the proper tools put in place to make it sting less. Just like peeling an onion, we cry and we get closer to the core, we cry less. When we start, the pungent odor makes us cry...so be prepared to cry through each layer removal. Its ok and its necessary!! We will get to the middle! It will take lots of time!!

Is there some crusty layers of bitterness, resentment and protection that you have built up?? The time is NOW to peel away and start to heal, start to be the person you were divinely designed to be!! You are here for a Purpose, a Reason!! YOU are a Gift!! So start removing and healing today!

I have been there! Years ago, I had built up such a layer of protection stronger that Ft. Knox so no one could hurt me...guess what?? It just made the pain harder to handle, harder to let go and I became someone that I didn't want to be. So I took steps completely out of my comfort zone and started to peel the layer after layer away, cried a lot and healed. It can be done!! And as you do this, there will come a time when you will be called to reach out and empower someone else to peel away their layers!! May your day be filled with Peeling and Healing and Forgiving and  Loving yourself and others!! Happy Sunday!!

Mom Thankful Thursday February 26

Good Morning Campers!! What are you thankful for today?? I'm thankful for my Mom!! Typically our Mom is the first one to hold us, feed us and bath us when we're born. So we have an incredible amount of Love for this woman. I mean come on,  we came out of her body!! Every single one of us was brought into this world through our Moms. What a gift that she has given us!! She gave us life,  our chance to be who we are today!! Even today if you talk to someone who was given up for adoption or abused by their mom,  most will say they still love their mom. Talk about a Bond!! Then as we grow up,  we learn alot from our Moms!! My mom taught to be strong, independent,  stand up and fight when I need to and also keep my mouth closed if I didn't have anything nice to say. She has a crazy funny sense of humor and I get my sarcastic side from her. And if you know her, you know she would do anything for anybody within reason. She also taught me to be a business owner as she is.  If your Mom is still with you, love her, love on her and take care of her, she took care of you once. If there is something that you need to forgive her for, just do it! Just forgive!! If you're waiting for her approval on you and your life...she has given that to you the day you were born! She chose you! She loves you and always will, it's just her way!! We never know how long we'll be here so make this time count!! May your day be filled with love from your Mom and love for your Mom!! Happy #ThankfulThursday!! #mom #nobodylovesyoulikemom #positive #inspiration  #entrepreneurs

Prayers Tuesday, January 27

Good Morning Sunshine!!  What are you thankful for today??  I'm thankful for Prayer today!! And I'm thankful for my Brother!! Unbeknownst to me, my Brother put out a S.O.S prayer request on Facebook last night for myself and my mother.  I am overwhelmed by the response!! Truly humbled, touched and honored by people's willingness to pray for us, even if we are strangers.

Our mom had been going through some stomach problems for many months and we couldn't get her to see the doctor. Then I started having pain episodes in my low abdomen which caused me to double over and barely walk for a couple of days. I went to 6 different doctors including the emergency room (where I got a CT scan) and a specialist (who said it was just muscle spasms). Nobody would do an ultrasound. Finally, I asked my chiropractor to order me one and he did. I needed to see my ob/gyn asap, who I had already seen and she wasn't helpful. Thank God for my clients who are more like friends!! One client is friends with her doctor, she asked if I needed her to Call In a favor,  I said Yes Please!!  This doctor was on call over Christmas and was able to give me a phone consultation. She said she would have her office call me to set up an ultrasound and appointment. I saw her a few weeks later and she determined that I require surgery. I have a baseball size dermoid cyst that is growing quickly and twisting my ovary.  She may have to remove the ovary and my appendix, as it is inflamed as well.

Meanwhile, we continued to encourage our mom to see her doctors. Finally, she did make an appointment and they drained two liters of fluid off of her stomach.  2 liters!!  Wow, well that's why she was having trouble!! They also had her get a CT scan and ultrasound. Now, she has been sent to a specialist. That appointment is tomorrow.  There will be more tests before we can know for sure what is going on.  We are trying to stay positive.

With all this said, maybe I had to go through what I went through to encourage my mom to go get help too.  We never know when we share our story, how it can influence another person in a positive way.  Since going through all of this and talking about my frustration to my clients, I've had several of them say that my story reminds them to get their regular check up that they have been putting off. So if you're reading this and looking for a sign that you need to see a doctor or get another opinion, this is it!  Go Do It!! By the time I have surgery the cyst may be even bigger. So if I hadn't prayed through all of this, I don't know if I would have been led to seek out so many different opinions.

This experience has definitely changed my life. A workaholic that wasn't interested in having children is who I used to be. Now, I'm no longer working such long hours and I'm looking forward to being a Mom someday. Sometimes, God has to bring us to our knees in order to change our lives.  May your day be filled with people who will Pray for you, doctors who Listen to you and the ability to Listen when you are nudged to seek another opinion. Happy Tuesday!!

Community Saturday,January 24

Good Morning Campers!!  What are you thankful for today??  I'm thankful for my #Community!!  We all belong to many Communities.  It could your family, school, work, church, city, gym,  social media, networking and neighborhoods. All of these things create Community.  By definition, community is a group of people with shared characteristics.  Let's say We all share the Human characteristics, so just by reading this, you belong to a Community.  One great thing about Community is when you're going through a rough time or need some help, people Show Up!! Ever have a loved one pass or have surgery or have a baby?? People will bring you food!! How awesome is that!!? That's why we're here on Earth together, to help each other out!! I'm thankful that I have several Communities that I can turn to in a time of need.

Communities are built as place to come as you are and they accept you.  It's human nature to want to be a part of a Community. If you are reading this and don't believe you belong somewhere, that's not true. You just have to find your community. You may have to step out of your comfort zone and be there for someone else who needs it before you can feel part of it. That's how life works sometimes.  The thing we want the most, we may have to create it ourselves.  If you're feeling isolated and alone, you can conquer it by stepping forward and jumping into a community somewhere. And then repeat again and again.  Be open, you will be surprised at how a Community forms around you. Then you can reach back and encourage someone else to step out, step forward and jump into a Community.

May your Day be filled with people who make you feel like you belong and that you're a part of the Greater Good Community. By reading this, you took the first step, you are a part of my Community!! Happy Saturday!!

Family Sunday, January 11

Good Morning Campers!!  What are you thankful for today?? I'm thankful for Family!!  Family can be the ones you are related to and it can the loved ones you that choose to be called Family.  My Family has grown over the years.  Growing up, it was just me and my two older brothers.  Then I got into the cosmetology industry, family became my co-workers as I hadn't had sisters before. Now, my Family consists of my work family, previous job family, clients who are friends family, church family, Bible study family, Entrepreneur family, gym family, friends' family, step family and my biological family. It's funny how when people ask me, what's your family like, I always explain the different types of family I have. I feel Family can be the people you spend most of your time with. If we surrounded ourselves with people who love us encourage us and truly want us to succeed in life, we all would be a little happier! If we chose to love and encourage and truly want others to succeed, we will attract those people! However, on the flip side, if we are negative, jealous and envious of others, we will be surrounded by those types of people.  Who you are being is who you are surrounded by. You pick which type you want. May you be positive, loving and supportive so today you can spend time with those who are loving, positive and supportive of you!! Happy Sunday!!
